Technically, I’m not new. I’ve been around in the blogging business for a while. First it was Tumblr, then a new, more concise Tumblr followed that. Alongside that one was an even more concise WordPress blog, and now we find ourselves here: tunde.io – a WordPress blog with my own domain. If by some miracle you actually did follow those old blogs (which don’t exist anymore) firstly, thank you. Secondly, all the new posts are written after Grown, so the first new one for you will be Taking the Milk. Now let’s talk about that domain.
.io is not something you see everyday but for me it’s perfect. My full first name is Ayotunde which can actually be broken down into Ayoand Tunde. Tunde is pronounced ‘toon-day’ (except it isn’t really but that’s the closest English will let me get to it) and Ayo is pronounced ‘i-o’. So why not have a URL which is essentially my name in reverse? Totally unique, right? The .io domain extension is actually in reference to the Indian Ocean hence ‘I.O’. These days it’s more commonly used for tech websites and startups. I use it because it looks cool and sounds cool. It’s probably worth mentioning from the outset that I am a geek, in case you didn’t figure it out already 🙂
Now that’s out of the way, let me tell you more about myself. I’m a 22 year old, Jesus loving, recently graduated from university, black man. I like making jokes and making people laugh. That’s one of the primary reasons for this little space, to put a smile on your little face. (That’s cheesy but it rhymed so that’s okay.) I also want to encourage people. Maybe you’re like me and find it difficult to think well of yourself all the time. Well, let’s stop that. I like encouraging people, so get encouraged.
Since everything here is all new, I’ve been thinking of doing a couple new styles of posts. I like pictures, so expect galleries. I like music, so expect playlists. Those previous blogs were all text heavy. Now it’s time for something different. Perhaps in the future you might see podcasts or videos, who knows? The possibilities are literally endless.
In the meantime, there’s not much else to say really. We’ve covered the blog URL (which will be further explained in an unapologetically geeky post, here). We’ve discussed a little bit about who I am. And finally, we talked about what to expect in the future from this blog. A pretty good show then!
Now, read on, friend 🙂
*Yeah. This was written in the past. You’ll see things have changed a little now. I did match up those links correctly though for you. You’re welcome :)
